Remasters don't bring much in terms of profit, so those are unlikely when it comes to the companies of the size of Activision, EA or Ubisoft. Edition on GOG - briefly (Mar 17 2016) Dying Light:The Following - Enh. Their main goal is to keep the shareholders and the investors happy, making a large profit. And so far this type of game sold maybe 2 - 3 millions (EA's Dead Space 1 and 2, the third one wasn't that successful)ĮA is a public company, so they can't do whatever they please. The remaster would have to sell in numbers of 4-5 millions copies, so EA could keep its shareholders happy and have a healthy profit. But there are both legal difficulties and financial. Clive Barker’s Undying is easily one of the scariest games I had played when I was younger (originally released in 2001), and a horror game classic by most standards. I wish to be so easy and i will love to see a remaster. Today GoG has put Clive Barker’s Undying on their site for 5.99. Clive Barker has to be involved, which means more money to be spent and in our days the use of a name and IP reached new heights. Clive Barkers Undying is definitely gog material, Jan. A remaster is not only in the hands of EA. GOG.com is a digital distribution platform an online store with a curated selection of games, an optional gaming client giving you freedom of choice, and a vivid community of gamers.

But again take a look to all the great survival horrors (Silent Hill 1-4, Nocturne, RE 1-2, Alone in the Dark IV). One of the best horror games out there and one of the most underrated. As for a HD remaster. The chances are slim, sadly. The price is 6$, but it can be much lower in sales. You can find Clive Barker's Undying on GOG.
I have been playing Jericho recently as I really loved the gameplay(some pretty cornball characters as well and definitely very rough in many respects) this makes me want to grab it ( i have the disc somewhere but GOG has it on sale right now) I think I may enjoy it now more than when it came out. Undying was not scary in the slightest to me(the the first enemy encounter was done with some nice flair), where as Thief had me shaking physically while playing. The story was a decent sort of lovecraftian yarn but actual character acting was so over the top and cartoony it was hard to take seriously, which was fairly common in video games tbh.Īfter silent hill a lot of other ‘horror‘ of the time suddenly felt very ineffective to say the least, in comparison. I recall undying having some interesting gameplay and being fairly fun and ambitious, but the writing(dialogue and such) and voice acting made me cringe at how hamfisted it was. Both of which altered my perception of horror in gaming forever. I had recently played silent hill for the first time and I believe Thief the dark project. I haven’t played it in ages(when it was released).
